Synthetic Route of C15H28O2In 2021, Kalana, U. L. D. Inush;Datta, Partha P.;Hewawasam, Rukshika S.;Kiesewetter, Elizabeth T.;Kiesewetter, Matthew K. published 《Organocatalytic ring-opening polymerization of thionolactones: anything O can do, S can do better》. 《Polymer Chemistry》published the findings. The article contains the following contents:

The H-bond mediated organocatalytic ring-opening polymerizations (ROPs) of four new thionolactone monomers are discussed. The kinetic and thermodn. behavior of the ROPs is considered in the context of the parent lactone monomers. Organocatalysts facilitate the retention of the S/O substitution as well as the synthesis of copolymers. The thionoester moieties in the polymer backbone serve as a chem. handle for a facile crosslinking reaction, and the porosity of the resulting crosslinked polymer can be tuned by altering the thioester d. in the (co)polymer. The crosslinked polymers are shown to be degradable in water, and an Au3+ recovery application is demonstrated. The experimental procedure involved many compounds, such as Oxacyclohexadecan-2-one (cas: 106-02-5) .

The article contains the following contents:

In this work, we reported values of speed of sound and d. of the Me caprate + Me oleate binary system over the whole composition range from 0% to 100% for pressures ranging from 0.1 MPa to 70 MPa and at 303.15 K. A pulse-echo technique working by reflection was used to measure the speed of sound w at 3 MHz. A vibrating U-tube densimeter was used to obtain d. data. From the combination of both these measurements, the isothermal and isentropic compressibilities were determined Finally, the speed of sound mol. weight product and the mol. compressibility Κm, also known as Wada’s constant, were calculated and represented as function of molar fraction in order to determine the best combining rule for predicting the speed of sound of the mixture from pure Fatty Acid Me Ester properties. And Methyl oleate (cas: 112-62-9) was used in the research process.

Tobacco flavors increase the attractiveness of a tobacco brand and ultimately promote addiction. Information about what flavor and how much flavor is in flavor capsules can provide an effective way to regulate tobacco flavor. In this study, 128 flavor chems. were identified and quantified by gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry using libraries and authentic standards Validation of the developed method was performed for interference, detection limits, calibration curves, accuracy, and precision. Menthol was the main ingredient in all capsules, and the carcinogenic pulegone was detected. Detected menthofuran, benzyl alc., geraniol, and eugenol cause toxic or severe irritation, and detected lactones can increase nicotine addiction by inhibiting nicotine metabolism in smokers. Margin of exposures for carcinogenic pulegone and non-carcinogenic menthol were well below safety thresholds, indicating a significant risk of inhalation exposure. It is desirable to prohibit the use of flavor capsules in consideration of human risk. And Methyl oleate (cas: 112-62-9) was used in the research process.

The catalytic reductive transformation of carboxylic esters into α-branched ethers is described. The procedure pivots on the chemoselective iridium-catalyzed hydrosilylation of ester and lactone functionality to afford a silyl acetal intermediate. Upon treatment with a Lewis acid, these hemilabile intermediates dissociate to form reactive oxocarbenium ions, which can be intercepted by allyltributyltin nucleophiles, resulting in the formation of valuable α-branched alkyl-alkyl ether derivatives This reductive allylation procedure was found to be amenable to a range of carboxylic ester starting materials, and good chemoselectivity for Et over tert-Bu esters was demonstrated. Furthermore, downstream synthetic manipulation of α-amino acid-derived products led to the efficient formation of pyrrolidine, piperidine, and azepane frameworks. The article was appeared in 《LWT–Food Science and Technology》. They have made some progress in their research.Category: esters-buliding-blocks The article mentions the following:

The present study aimed at the determination of volatile compounds (VOCs) of Greek Quercus ilex honey, which comprises a rarely studied honeydew honey, from different regions and to characterize its provenance using a targeted chemometric evaluation of the semi-quant. data of VOCs determined with headspace solid phase microextraction coupled to gas chromatog./mass spectrometry (HS-SPME/GC-MS). Principal component anal. (PCA), multivariate anal. of variance (MANOVA) and stepwise linear discriminant anal. (SLDA) showed that provenance affected the volatile composition of Quercus ilex honey. The PCA explained 98.10% of total variance with the factors that maximized the squared cosine to be 10 VOCs: heptane, dimethyl-disulfide, octane, nonane, styrene, alpha-pinene, meta-cymene, DL-limonene, 1-decanol, and tetradecanoic acid Et ester. The SLDA resulted in the formation of linear discriminant functions that provided a classification rate of honey samples according to provenance by ∼80%, based on styrene, eucalyptol, benzeneacetaldehyde, 1-decanol, and tetradecanoic acid Et ester. Considering the complementary results of PLS-VIP (partial least squares anal.-variable importance in projection) eucalyptol, 1-decanol, and tetradecanoic acid Et ester are proposed as volatile indicators of the provenance of Greek Quercus ilex honey. These VOCs were also correlated with the percent of Castanea sativa and Polygonum aviculare pollen grains.Ethyl tetradecanoate (cas: 124-06-1) were involved in the experimental procedure.

Oxacyclohexadecan-2-one(cas:106-02-5) is a monomer used to make PGA-co-pentadecalactone polymers to be used in the development of directly compressed prolonged release tablets of slightly soluble drugs such as ketoprofen.Synthetic Route of C15H28O2It may be used for the synthesis of poly(pentadecanolide) (PPDL) by Novozyme 435 catalyzed ring-opening polymerization.

Synthetic Route of C15H28O2《Polymeric nanoparticles for the delivery of miRNA to treat Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)》 was published in 2019. The authors were Mohamed, Adel;Kunda, Nitesh K.;Ross, Kehinde;Hutcheon, Gillian A.;Saleem, Imran Y., and the article was included in《European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics》. The author mentioned the following in the article:

RNA interference (RNAi) based therapeutics are considered an endogenous mechanism for modulating gene expression. In addition, microRNAs (miRNAs) may be tractable targets for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). In this study miR146a was adsorbed onto poly (glycerol adipate-co-ω-pentadecalactone), PGA-co-PDL, nanoparticles (NPs) to reduce target gene IRAK1 expression. NPs were prepared using an oil-in-water single emulsion solvent evaporation method incorporating cationic lipid dioleoyltrimethylammoniumpropane (DOTAP). This resulted in NPs of 244.80 ± 4.40 nm at 15% DOTAP concentration, zeta potential (ZP) of +14.8 ± 0.26 mV and miR-146a (40μg/mL) maximum adsorption onto 15% DOTAP NPs was 36.25 ± 0.35μg per 10 mg NP following 24 h incubation. Using the MTT assay, it was observed that over 75% at 0.312 mg/mL of A549 cells remained viable after 18 h exposure to cationic NPs at a concentration of 1.25 mg/mL. Furthermore, the in vitro release profile of miR-146a from loaded NPs showed a continuous release up to 77% after 24 h. Internalization of miR-146a loaded cationic NPs was observed in A549 cell lines using fluorescence and confocal microscopy. The miR146a delivered as miR-146a-NPs had a dose dependent effect of highest NPs concentrations 0.321 and 0.625 mg/mL and reduced target gene IRAK1 expression to 40%. In addition, IL-8 promoter reporter output (GFP) was dampened by miR-146a-NPs. In conclusion, miR-146a was successfully adsorbed onto PGA-co-PDL-DOTAP NPs and the miR-146a retained biol. activity. Therefore, these results demonstrate the potential of PGA-co-PDL NPs as a delivery system for miR-146a to treat COPD. To complete the study, the researchers used Oxacyclohexadecan-2-one (cas: 106-02-5) .

The authors were Axiotis, Evangelos;Petrakis, Eleftherios A.;Halabalaki, Maria;Mitakou, Sofia, and the article was included in《Molecules》. The author mentioned the following in the article:

Sideritis sipylea Boiss. is an endemic plant of the Mediterranean basin that is distributed in the Greek islands of the North Aegean Sea, i.e., Lesvos, Chios, Samos, and Ikaria, and in the West and Middle peninsula of Turkey. It is considered an endangered species because of its uncontrolled collection from its original habitat. Although the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties have been previously reported, the total chem. profile has not yet been explored. In this context, the chem. profiles of the water/methanol (HA), methanol (ME), and Et acetate (EtOAc) extracts were analyzed using ultra-performance liquid chromatog. coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-HRMS). In parallel, anal. by gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was employed for the dichloromethane extract (DCM) as well as for the essential oil (EO) and the extract obtained by supercritical fluid extraction (SFE). Furthermore, the total phenolic content (TPC) along with the in vitro tyrosinase and elastase enzyme inhibitory activity of different extracts was evaluated, towards the discovery of new active agents for cosmetic formulations. These activities are in accordance with its well-known antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, confirming the importance of ethnopharmacol. references for S. sipylea in Greece and Turkey. The use of renewable monomers to make new polyesters which could replace the ones obtained from petrochem. resources employing green processes is attracting a lot of attention these days. With this in mind, three different macrolactones, ω-pentadecalactone, globalide and 6-hexadecenlactone, have been polymerized in bulk by enzymic ring opening polymerization (e-ROP) using immobilized Candida antarctica lipase B to give their corresponding polymacrolactones (PMLs). For the first time, these PMLs have been depolymerized enzymically in solution with the concourse of the same enzyme and at mild temperatures GPC, NMR and ESI MS demonstrated that the main products recovered after the enzymic processive recycling were cyclic monomers and dimers, with a small amount of higher size macrocyclic oligoesters (MCOs). It was observed that these depolymerizations followed a Michaelis-Menten kinetic model. Finally it was shown that these MCOs could be repolymd. This research provides a biosynthetic method for chem. recycling of these interesting polymeric materials providing a pathway towards a circular economy. The article contains the following contents:

This study investigated the reaction kinetics and elimination efficiency of eleven synthetic musks during ozonation and UV254nm-based, advanced oxidation processes. The synthetic musks containing olefin moieties with electron-donating alkyl substituents such as octahydro tetra-Me naphthalenyl ethanone (OTNE) and ambrettolide (AMBT) showed high reactivity toward ozone (k ≥ 3.7 x 105 M-1 s-1) and free available chlorine (FAC) (k = 9.2 – 88 M-1 s-1), while all other synthetic musks were less ozone reactive (k = 0.3 – 560 M-1 s-1) and FAC-refractory. All synthetic musks showed high •OH reactivity (k > 5 x 109 M-1 s-1), except musk ketone (MK) (k = 2.3 x 109 M-1 s-1). In concordance with the kinetic information, OTNE and AMBT were efficiently eliminated (>97%) in simulated ozone treatments of drinking water at a specific ozone dose of 0.5 gO3/gDOC. The elimination levels of the other synthetic musks were below 50% at 0.5 gO3/gDOC. The fluence-based UV photolysis rate constant of the synthetic musks was determined to be (0.2 – 2.7) x 10-3 cm2/mJ. The elimination levels of synthetic musks during UV alone treatment ranged from 7 to 81% at a UV fluence of 500 mJ/cm2. The addition of 10 mg/L H2O2 (UV/H2O2) significantly enhanced the elimination of most synthetic musks (achieving >90% elimination at 500 mJ/cm2), indicating that the •OH reaction was mainly responsible for their elimination. The addition of 10 mg/L FAC (UV/FAC) also significantly enhanced the elimination of olefinic and aromatic synthetic musks (>90%), for which the reaction with ClO• was mainly responsible. For MK and two alkyl synthetic musks, their elimination during UV/FAC treatment was still limited (28 – 64%) and was mainly achieved by UV photolysis or reaction with •OH. In summary, this study substantiates the chem. kinetics approach as a helpful tool for predicting or interpreting the elimination of micropollutants during oxidative water treatment. The research results were published in《Journal of Food Protection》 in 2020.COA of Formula: C15H28O2 The article conveys some information:

The objective of this study was to investigate the safety of PM from a total of 182 PM samples collected from milk bars from 10 provincial capital cities and to analyze the residues of seven classes of 61 veterinary drugs. First, the chem. components were screened with test kits, and then the pos. samples were further confirmed by ultraperformance liquid chromatog.-tandem mass spectrometry. The results showed that 15 (8.24%) samples were screened pos. for veterinary drugs, and six drugs in 11 (6.04%) samples were confirmed. The veterinary drugs detected were penicillin G (2.20%), tetracycline (1.10%), tylosin (1.10%), amoxicillin (0.55%), oxytetracycline (0.55%), and gentamicin (0.55%), with maximum residue levels of 3.4, 11.9, 28.2, 3.0, 26.9, and 63.5μg kg-1, resp. Veterinary drug residues were detected as pos. in 7 of 10 cities, with the highest detection rate as 14.29% in Urumqi. No pos. samples were found in the cities of Nanjing, Tianjin, and Nanning. All detected drug levels were far below the maximum residue levels regulated by China, the European Union, and the Codex Alimentarius Commission. This suggests that the overall veterinary drug residues in PM in milk bars reached the safety code of the country. However, potential risks still exist, and continuous attention should be paid to guarantee the safety of this milk product in the future.Oxacyclohexadecan-2-one (cas: 106-02-5) were involved in the experimental procedure.
