Chauvier, Clement;Finck, Lucie;Hecht, Stefan;Oestreich, Martin research published 《 General Synthesis and Optical Properties of N-Aryl-N’-Silyldiazenes》, the research content is summarized as follows. Silyldiazenes ArN:NSiR3 were prepared by oxidation of the corresponding hydrazines with azodicarboxylate diesters with high yields and generality. While organo-substituted diazenes (R1-N:N-R2 with R = alkyl, aryl) are a well-studied class of compounds, much less is known about their heavier group 14 analogs, notably because of their perceived instability. We report herein a general oxidative protocol to prepare various N-aryl-N’-silyldiazenes by a fast and mild dehydrogenation of the corresponding silylhydrazines using di-tert-butylazodicarboxylate as an oxidant. The optical properties of these stable blue to purple silyldiazenes were also studied by UV/visible absorption spectroscopy and supported by TD-DFT calculations

Chauvier, Clement;Finck, Lucie;Irran, Elisabeth;Oestreich, Martin research published 《 Autocatalytic Carbonyl Arylation through In Situ Release of Aryl Nucleophiles from N-Aryl-N’-Silyldiazenes》, the research content is summarized as follows. Functionalized aryl alkali metal equivalent were generated from aryldiazenylsilanes such as (E)-PhN:NTMS in the presence of sodium trimethylsilanolate with loss of N2; the arylmetal intermediates added to aldehydes, ketones, and esters with silylation to yield benzylic trimethylsilyl ethers. Under these reaction conditions, aryl alkali metal equivalent with electrophilic substituents such as methoxycarbonyl or cyano and halo moieties were formed and reacted chemoselectively. Using this method, reaction of a 1,3-bis(silyldiazenyl)benzene with terephthaldehyde followed by deoxygenation yielded a para/metacyclophane I. The structures of the 1,3-bis(silyldiazenyl)benzene and of I were determined by X-ray crystallog.

The reagent di-tert-Bu ethynylimidodicarbonate is demonstrated as a β-aminoethyl anion synthetic equivalent It can be used to install ethyleneamine groups by exploiting its terminal alkyne reactivity with common organic electrophiles. Reactions exemplified with this terminal ynimide reagent include additions to imines, aldehydes, ketones, pyridinium salts, Michael acceptors, epoxides, as well as Pd-catalyzed Sonogashira couplings. Subsequent regioselective [3+2] cycloadditions of the alkynyl-imides (ynimides) generate N,N-di-Boc imide functionalized triazole and isoxazole heterocycles. Reduction of the ynimides with Pd-catalyzed hydrogenation generates ethyleneimides with easily removable N,N-di-Boc-carbamate protecting groups allowing for a flexible ynimide based approach to ethyleneamine installation. The utility of this two-step aminoethylation strategy was demonstrated in the short formal syntheses of pyrrolidinoindoline alkaloids (±)-CPC-1 and (±)-alline. Analogously, the reagent (N,N,N’)-tri-Boc 2-ethynylhydrazine, serves as a β-hydrazinoethyl anion synthetic equivalent

Chandrachud, Preeti P.;Wojtas, Lukasz;Lopchuk, Justin M. research published 《 Decarboxylative Amination: Diazirines as Single and Double Electrophilic Nitrogen Transfer Reagents》, the research content is summarized as follows. The ubiquity of nitrogen-containing small mols. in medicine necessitates the continued search for improved methods for C-N bond formation. Electrophilic amination often requires a disparate toolkit of reagents whose selection depends on the specific structure and functionality of the substrate to be aminated. Further, many of these reagents are challenging to handle, engage in undesired side reactions, and function only within a narrow scope. Here, we report the use of diazirines as practical reagents for the decarboxylative amination of simple and complex redox-active esters. The diaziridines thus produced are readily diversifiable to amines, hydrazines, and nitrogen-containing heterocycles in one step. The reaction has also been applied in fluorous phase synthesis with a perfluorinated diazirine.

Cao, Shixuan;Tang, Tong;Li, Jiatian; He, Zhengjie research published 《 Visible light-driven [3 + 3] annulation reaction of 2H-azirines with Huisgen zwitterions and synthesis of 1,2,4-triazines》, the research content is summarized as follows. A visible light-driven [3 + 3] annulation reaction of 2H-azirines with in-situ generated Huisgen zwitterions from azodicarboxylates and phosphines was herein described. Under very mild conditions and irradiation of blue LED light, disubstituted 2H-azirines readily undergo a formal [3 + 3] annulation reaction with in-situ generated Huisgen zwitterions, affording polysubstituted dihydro-1,2,4-triazines in 51-97% yields with a broad substrate scope. Mechanistic studies unveil that this annulation reaction proceeded through a cascade sequence of nucleophilic addition, light-driven 1,3-ester migration and aza-Wittig-like cyclization. The light-driven ester migration step was believed to be a photochem. process of an intramol. electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complex.

Breton, Gary W.;Hahn, Lauren A.;Martin, Kenneth L. research published 《 Structural verification of a tetrahydrotetrazole compound》, the research content is summarized as follows. Tetrahydrotetrazoles are five-membered-ring heterocycles containing four contiguous saturated nitrogen atoms. Very few examples of such compounds have been reported in the literature. Our previous attempt at the synthesis of a member of this class of compound suggested that the N-N bonds may be more labile than expected. This finding raised the question as to whether the structures of any of the previously reported tetrahydrotetrazoles had been properly assigned. We have reproduced the synthesis of a reported tetrahydrotetrazole, namely 1,2-di-tert-Bu 3-phenyl-1H,2H,3H,10bH-[1,2,3,4]tetrazolo[5,1-a]isoquinoline-1,2-dicarboxylate, C25H30N4O4, and have now confidently confirmed its structure via X-ray crystallog. However, while sufficiently stable in the crystal phase, we discovered that it remains very labile in solution (having a half-life of only 15 min at 20°C in CDCl3). A tentative reaction pathway for its dissociation based on 1H NMR spectral evidence is provided.

Safety of Di-tert-butyl diazene-1,2-dicarboxylate, Di-tert-butyl azodicarboxylate, also known as Di-tert-butyl azodicarboxylate, is a useful research compound. Its molecular formula is C₁₀H₁₈N₂O₄ and its molecular weight is 230.26 g/mol. The purity is usually 95%.
Di-tert-butyl azodicarboxylate is a reagent used in the electrophilic amination of β-keto esters catalyzed by an axially chiral guanidine. Building block in an enantioselective synthesis of 3,6-dihyropyridazines employing organocatalysts such a L-proline or (S)-2-pyrrolidinyl tetrazole. Utilized in the asymmetric Friedel-Crafts amination via a chiral organocatalyst.
Di-tert-butyl azodicarboxylate is a reagent used in the preparation of acyl hydrazinedicarboxylates via photoorganocatalytic hydroacylation of dialkyl azodicarboxylates with aldehydes in presence of phenylglyoxylic acid as photocatalyst., 870-50-8.
