Pokprasert, Adisak; Theato, Patrick; Chirachanchai, Suwabun published the artcile< Proton donor/acceptor copolymer brushes on sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) membrane: An approach to construct efficient proton transfer pathway in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell>, Recommanded Product: Perfluorophenyl acrylate, the main research area is sulfonated poly ether ketone membrane proton transfer fuel cell.

Proton transfer in polymer electrolyte membrane is an essential mechanism in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). The development of PEM mostly relies on polymer modification with proton conductive species followed by membrane casting. This brings in the random existence of conductive species in the membrane to result in a limit of conductivity The present work proposes an alignment of conductive species, i.e., proton donor and acceptor polymer chains, on the membrane through the surface-initiated polymerization so that the proton transfer proceeds effectively and continuously. The grafting of poly(acrylic acid) (Poly(AA) and/or poly(benzimidazole acrylamide) (Poly(BImAm)) onto sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) membrane (SPEEK) enables the polymer brush decoration on the SPEEK surface. Among various types of copolymer architecture, the statistical copolymer, i.e. SPEEK-Poly(AA63-stat-BImAm26), shows the most significant proton conductivity The present work demonstrates a simple approach to modify the surface of PEMFC membrane with proton donor/acceptor for proton conductivity enhancement.

Gaballa, Heba; Theato, Patrick published the artcile< Glucose-Responsive Polymeric Micelles via Boronic Acid-Diol Complexation for Insulin Delivery at Neutral pH>, Electric Literature of 71195-85-2, the main research area is insulin micelle boronic acid polymer diabetes.

In the present study, glucose-responsive polymeric complex micelles based on the complexation of phenylboronic-acid-based (PBA-based) block copolymer and diol-functionalized polymers are reported. The phenylboronic-acid- and diol-based block copolymers were successfully synthesized in only two reaction steps using reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization and postpolymn. modification of the obtained poly[(N-acryloylmorpholine-block-(N-acryloylmorpholine-co-pentafluorophenyl acrylate)], poly[(AMP-b-(AMP-co-PFPA)], reactive block copolymer. The self-assembly of the complex micelles was investigated under neutral conditions using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The interaction of the PBA block copolymer and diol-containing polymer via boronate ester bond was investigated by 1H NMR and UV-vis spectroscopy. The complex micelles enhanced the glucose responsiveness under physiol. conditions compared to simple PBA micelles. Furthermore, the successful glucose-triggered release of FITC-insulin from the polymeric micelles was investigated.

Narrowly dispersed raspberry-like SiO2@poly(dopamine acrylamide-co-methacrylic acid-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate)/Ag (or SiO2@PDA/Ag) composite nanospheres were synthesized via a combination of sol-gel reaction, distillation-precipitation polymerization, reactive ester-amine reaction, and electroless metalization. In this approach, SiO2@poly(pentafluorophenyl acrylate-co-methacrylic acid-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (or SiO2@PPFA) core-shell nanospheres were first prepared by distillation-precipitation polymerization, using the SiO2-3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (SiO2-MPS) nanospheres from sol-gel reaction as seeds. The reactive pentafluorophenyl (PFP) ester moieties on SiO2@PPFA nanospheres can readily react with dopamine hydrochloride to form amide linkages with no side reaction under a mild condition. The catecholamine moieties in the resulting SiO2@PDA nanospheres were utilized for simultaneous reduction of Ag+ ions and coordinative binding of the metal nanoparticles. The SiO2-MPS, SiO2@PPFA, and SiO2@PDA nanospheres as well as the raspberry-like SiO2@PDA/Ag composite nanospheres were characterized by field-emission transmission electron microscopy (FETEM), thermogravimetric anal. (TGA), dynamic light scattering (DLS), XPS, and FT-IR spectroscopy. Furthermore, the as-synthesized SiO2@PDA/Ag composite nanospheres were explored for the catalytic reduction of p-nitrophenol and degradation of rhodamine 6G (R6G) dye.

ACS Nano published new progress about Annealing. 71195-85-2 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C9H3F5O2, Name: Perfluorophenyl acrylate.

Li, Caicong; Liu, Jie; Peng, Hailong; Sui, Yuan; Song, Jian; Liu, Yang; Huang, Wei; Chen, Xiaowei; Shen, Jinghui; Ling, Yao; Huang, Chongyu; Hong, Youwei; Huang, Weiguo published the artcile< A Camel Nose-Inspired Highly Durable Neuromorphic Humidity Sensor with Water Source Locating Capability>, Name: Perfluorophenyl acrylate, the main research area is camel nose inspired neuromorphic humidity sensor capacitance; artificial synaptic behaviors; excellent durability; high sensitivity and discriminability; intelligent humidity sensors; water source-locating capability.

Numerous emerging applications in modern society require humidity sensors that are not only sensitive and specific but also durable and intelligent. However, conventional humidity sensors do not have all of these simultaneously because they require very different or even contradictory design principles. Here, inspired by camel noses, we develop a porous zwitterionic capacitive humidity sensor. Relying on the synergistic effect of a porous structure and good chem. and thermal stabilities of hygroscopic zwitterions, this sensor simultaneously exhibits high sensitivity, discriminability, excellent durability, and, in particular, the highest respond speed among reported capacitive humidity sensors, with demonstrated applications in the fast discrimination between fresh, stale, and dry leaves, high-resolution touchless human-machine interactive input devices, and the real-time monitoring humidity level of a hot industrial exhaust. More importantly, this sensor exhibits typical synapse behaviors such as paired-pulse facilitation due to the strong binding interactions between water and zwitterions. This leads to learning and forgetting features with a tunable memory, thus giving the sensor artificial intelligence and enabling the location of water sources. This work offers a general design principle expected to be applied to develop other high-performance biochem. sensors and the next-generation intelligent sensors with much broader applications.

Cho, Hyungjun’s team published research in European Polymer Journal in 2020-02-15 | 71195-85-2

European Polymer Journal published new progress about Antibodies and Immunoglobulins Role: PAC (Pharmacological Activity), THU (Therapeutic Use), BIOL (Biological Study), USES (Uses). 71195-85-2 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C9H3F5O2, Category: esters-buliding-blocks.

Cho, Hyungjun; Liu, Peng; Boyle, Amanda J.; Reilly, Raymond M.; Winnik, Mitchell A. published the artcile< Synthesis of a metal-chelating polymer with NOTA pendants as a carrier for 64Cu, intended for radioimmunotherapy>, Category: esters-buliding-blocks, the main research area is metal chelating polymer NOTA pendant copper64 carrier radioimmunotherapy.

As a positron emitter, 64Cu is useful for positron emission tomog. It can also generate Auger electrons that are useful for therapy. Many radioimmunoconjugates labeled with 64Cu involve covalent attachment of bifunctional chelators directly to the antibody (Ab) of interest. To increase its therapeutic potential, a metal-chelating polymer (MCP) with multiple chelators can be conjugated the Ab. In this way, one can incorporate multiple 64Cu ions per Ab. Here we describe the synthesis of a MCP designed for attachment to trastuzumab (tmab), an antibody (Ab) used to treat breast cancer patients with tumors that overexpress human epidermal growth factor receptor 2. We chose 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-N,N′,N′′-triacetic acid (NOTA) chelator to complex with 64Cu, and in our design, the polymer would carry multiple copies of the NOTA chelator as pendant groups. The Cu2+/NOTA complex has a net neg. charge. We began by using RAFT polymerization to synthesize an end-functional poly(2-aminoethyl acrylamide) polymer, in which we could use the amino groups to attach the chelator and other substituents. In a previous study (Biomacromols. 13 (2012) 2831-2842), we found that MCP radioimmunoconjugates with a neg. charge in the repeat unit led to high liver up-take in a mouse model. Thus, we chose to introduce ca. 50% methoxy-dodecaethylene glycol (mPEG12) pendant groups to confer “”stealth””. As a control, we also synthesized a similar polymer with ca. 50% methoxyethyl pendants (EO1). NOTA chelators were attached to remaining pendant groups. We then end-capped the MCPs with succinic acid, radiolabeled the MCPs with 64Cu and injected the radiolabeled MCPs into healthy Balb/c mice via the tail vein. We observed that a large amount of the MCPs were retained in the kidneys. We discuss what properties of the MCPs may have contributed to its accumulation in the kidneys.

Thanks to their photophys. properties, both organic mol. fluorophores (MFs) and inorganic quantum dots (QDs) are extensively used for bioimaging applications. However, limitations such as photobleaching for the former or blinking, size, and toxicity for the latter still constitute a challenge for numerous applications. We report here that embedding MFs in graphitic carbon dots (GDs) results in fluorophores which entirely tackle this challenge. Characterized by ultranarrow, bright, and excitation-independent emission devoid of blinking and photobleaching, these hybrid-featured nanoparticles also demonstrate their unique photophys. performances at the single-nanoparticle scale, making them appealing candidates for bioimaging applications.

Surface modification is essential to attach optically or catalytically active nanoparticles on the surface of colloidal particles. In this article, we demonstrated that diblock copolymer micelles can be used as surface-functionalized particles and they can be coated with Ag or TiO2 nanoparticles without surface modification. We first obtained dopamine-functionalized diblock copolymers which were synthesized by the reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization and followed by the post-polymerization modification. By dissolving this amphiphilic diblock copolymer in water, spherical micelles with the dopamine-functionalized coronas were induced, which are essentially equivalent to polymeric particles with dopamine-functionalized surface. Thus, without addnl. surface functionalization, we were able to directly decorate these particles with Ag and TiO2 nanoparticles due to the dopamine functionality on their surface.

We have investigated core-crosslinked star polymer nanoparticles designed with tunable release chemistries as potential nanocarriers for a photoactive Re(i) organometallic complex. The nanoparticles consisted of a brush poly(oligo-ethylene glycol)methyl ether acrylate (POEGA) corona and a cross-linked core of non-biodegradable N,N’-methylenebis(acrylamide) (MBAA) and either pentafluorophenyl acrylate (PFPA), 3-vinyl benzaldehyde (VBA) or diacetone acrylamide (DAAM). Each star was modified with an amine functionalized photodynamic agent (i.e. a rhenium(i) organometallic complex) resulting in the formation of either a stable amide bond (POEGA-star-PFPA), or hydrolytically labile aldimine (POEGA-star-VBA) or ketimine bonds (POEGA-star-DAAM). ACS Infectious Diseases published new progress about Antibacterial agents. 71195-85-2 belongs to class esters-buliding-blocks, and the molecular formula is C9H3F5O2, Electric Literature of 71195-85-2.

Qiao, Jing; Purro, Max; Liu, Zhi; Xiong, May P. published the artcile< Terpyridine-Micelles for Inhibiting Bacterial Biofilm Development>, Electric Literature of 71195-85-2, the main research area is antibacterial biofilm iron terpyridine micelle; Tpy−micelle; biofilm; cystic fibrosis.

Iron plays a critical role in bacterial infections and is especially critical for supporting biofilm formation. Until recently, Fe(III) was assumed to be the most relevant form of iron to chelate in therapeutic antimicrobial strategies due to its natural abundance under normal oxygen and physiol. conditions. Recent clin. data obtained from cystic fibrosis (CF) patients found that there is actually quite an abundance of Fe(II) present in sputum and that there exists a significant relationship between sputum Fe(II) concentration and severity of the disease. A biocompatible mixed micelle formed from the self-assembly of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-block-methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) (PLGA-b-mPEG) and poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-block-poly(terpyridine)5 [PLGA-b-p(Tpy)5] polymers was prepared to chelate Fe(II) (Tpy-micelle). Tpy-micelles showed high selectivity for Fe(II) over Fe(III), decreased biofilm mass more effectively under anaerobic conditions at >4 μM Tpy-micelles, reduced bacteria growth in biofilms by >99.9% at 128 μM Tpy-micelles, effectively penetrated throughout a 1-day old biofilm, and inhibited biofilm development in a concentration-dependent manner. This study reveals that Fe(II) chelating Tpy-micelles are a promising addition to Fe(III) chelating strategies to inhibit biofilm formation in CF lung infections.
