Aziz, Marya published the artcilePhytochemical, pharmacological, and In-silico molecular docking studies of Strobilanthes glutinosus Nees: An unexplored source of bioactive compounds, Name: Dimethyl adipate, the publication is South African Journal of Botany (2022), 618-627, database is CAplus.

Strobilanthes glutinosus (family: Acanthaceae) is one of the important medicinal plants and the current research work was carried out to assess the phytochem., biol., and in-silico evaluations of different solvent extracts of S. glutinosus. The phytochem. composition was assessed by determining qual. phytochem. testing, total bioactive contents, and GC-MS anal. For biol. evaluation, antioxidant (DPPH and FRAP), antibacterial, and enzyme inhibition (urease) potential were determined The methanol extract was found to contain the highest total phenolic (247.85 mg GAE/g extract), and flavonoid content (71.91 mg QAE/g extract), which can be correlated to the observed higher antioxidant potential of this extract On the contrary, the n-hexane extract presented maximum anti-urease activity with IC50 value of 0.244 mg/mL, whereas, in the case of antibacterial assays, a dose-dependent activity was observed Similarly, the GC-MS investigation of methanol extract and n-hexane fraction revealed the tentative identification of several important classes of secondary metabolites. Furthermore, the main compounds as identified by GC-MS were further studied for in-silico mol. docking studies in order to highlight any interactions between the compounds identified and the urease enzyme. Overall, the present investigation highlighted the studied plant extracts to be considered further for the isolation of bioactive compounds for the pharmaceutical and food industry.

Beltifa, Asma published the artcileIdentification and quantification of plasticizers, bisphenol, and environmental toxic mineral elements residues in medicines from Tunisian markets, Recommanded Product: Dimethyl adipate, the publication is Environmental Science and Pollution Research (2021), 28(36), 50462-50470, database is CAplus and MEDLINE.

In this study, 18 plasticizer (phthalates, adipates, sebacates, and others) residues in sixteen medicines available in Tunisian pharmaceutical markets are evaluated by MSPD combined with GC-MS. In parallel, in this research, UPLC-MS/MS technique was performed to detect bisphenol A, and cadmium, lead, chromium, cobalt, nickel, mercury, selenium, and arsenic levels were determined by ICP-MS. The maximum daily ingested mass of mineral elements was calculated and compared with permissible daily exposure limits published by USP NF 2013. Our results demonstrated that the 50% of drugs contained similar concentrations of di-Et adipate. Di-iso-Bu phthalate was found in a single sample with a high concentration (1.07 mgkg-1). Di-methyladipate was also present in only one sample. Di-Et phthalate was detected in three medicines: the highest concentration (17.03 mgkg-1) was found in capsules. The other plasticizers and bisphenol A levels were below the limits of quantification in the all samples. All tested products were safe for use, except two clay-originated products. Concentrations and the maximum daily ingested mass of lead and arsenic were higher than recommended limits. The use of these medicines should require more attention taking into account the serious hazards of heavy metals to human health.

Jebara, Amel published the artcilePhthalates and non-phthalate plasticizers in Tunisian marine samples: Occurrence, spatial distribution and seasonal variation, Name: Dimethyl adipate, the publication is Marine Pollution Bulletin (2021), 111967, database is CAplus and MEDLINE.

Seawater, sediment, seagrass and fish from several sites along the Tunisian coast were monitored for several phthalate esters (PAEs) and non-phthalate plasticizers (NPPs) during 2018-2019. In water and sediment, NPPs were higher than PAEs, being di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP, 0.0717 and 4.59μg/g), and di(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate (DEHT, 0.634 and 2.42μg/g) most abundant. As expected, sediments acted as a sink for plasticizers, thus revealing a stronger contamination than water. Seagrass was less contaminated than fish, being DEHP (0.726 and 1.77μg/g) and DEHT (9.19 and 23.2μg/g) predominant. Biota poorly concductivity/accumulated plasticizers from water and sediment depending on the logKoct/wat and water solubility of single congeners. The spatial distribution of plasticizers was affected by the proximity to anthropogenic sources and the rate of coastal currents; whereas their seasonal variation may be related to the length of time of touristic/industrial inputs and factors such as rainfall and urban stormwater runoff.

Polymerization of precipitation was used to make liquid electrodes with metformin (MET) imprinted polymers. Lev was used as a template to make mol. (MIP) and non-imprinted (NIP) polymers. In the polymerization process, Me methacrylate (MMA), acrylamide (AM), ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA), and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) were employed as monomers, cross-linkers, and initiators. Using Di B Sabacat (DBS) and Di Me adipate (DMA) as plasticizers in PVC matrix, the molecularly imprinted membranes and the nonmembranes were prepared The liquid electrodes’ slopes and detection limits were -28.03 – -19.45 mV/decade and 3 x 10-5 M- 7 x 10-5 M, resp., and their reaction time was about 1 min. Liquid electrodes were filled with 0.1 M standard drug solution, and their response was consistent throughout a pH range of 1.5 to 10.0, with high selectivity for several types. The electrodes developed have been effectively used in the production of pharmaceutical samples for analyte anal. without the need for time-consuming pretreatment.

Panda, Saroj K. published the artcileAlkyl carbon number limits the ring-number separation of polycyclic aromatic compounds in petroleum analysis, Recommanded Product: Dimethyl adipate, the publication is Fuel (2021), 118937, database is CAplus.

There have been many attempts to achieve a clear-cut separation of alkylated aromatic compounds based on the number of aromatic rings employing normal-phase liquid chromatog. However, each method has its own limitations to address this issue. Therefore, we aimed to elucidate the involved mechanisms for this limitation. For this purpose, stationary phases viz. amino- and cyano-bonded silica gel were considered. The phases were evaluated with the distilled cuts of a crude oil based on resolution and selectivity, and the optimum phase was selected for the separation of a crude oil. It was observed that there was a significant overlap of compounds with the same ring-number in different peaks. The cause of overlap was linked to the number of alkyl carbon atoms attached to the aromatic rings. Aromatic compounds substituted with higher number of alkyl carbon atoms (total) elute earlier than those with lower number of alkyl carbon atoms. This trend was maintained for hydrocarbons, sulfur-containing compounds (S1), and di-sulfur containing compounds (S2). It was further corroborated using mol. modeling calculations that (i) the increase in the number of alkyl carbon atoms increases the mol. volume, and (ii) the volume of the mols. remains similar irresp. of the number and position of alkyl substituents provided that the total number of alkyl carbon atoms remains the same. Finally, it was revealed that the counteractive role of the size exclusion mechanism limits the application of normal-phase chromatog. for a clear-cut separation of alkylated aromatic compounds according to the number of aromatic rings.
