On November 30, 2021, Benede, Juan L.; Chisvert, Alberto; Lucena, Rafael; Cardenas, Soledad published an article.Formula: C24H27NO2 The title of the article was A paper-based polystyrene/nylon Janus platform for the microextraction of UV filters in water samples as proof-of-concept. And the article contained the following:

A new mix-mode cellulose-based sorptive phase is described that combines two different polymeric domains (i.e., nylon and polystyrene), thus providing simultaneous hydrophilic and hydrophobic features as a result. By analogy with Janus materials, the new paper-based sorptive phase has been named paper-based polystyrene/nylon Janus-platform (P-Ps/Ny-JP). The main advantages of the proposed P-Ps/Ny-JP are the sustainability, simplicity in synthesis, and low cost of this extraction device. The main parameters affecting the synthesis (i.e., coating procedure and polymers proportion) have been studied, and the resulting material has been characterized via SEM and IR spectroscopy. As a proof-of-concept, the simultaneous extraction of fourteen UV filters of a wide range of polarity, with log P values ranging from – 0.234 to 16.129, from water samples and their determination by liquid chromatog.-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) has been performed. The proposed methodol. enables the determination of these chems. with limits of detection from 12 to 71 ng L-1, and the precision, expressed as a relative standard deviation, was below 15%. The extraction device was applied to the anal. of real water samples likely to contain UV filters (i.e., two private swimming pool water and one seawater) and the recovery values were in the range 73-121%. The experimental process involved the reaction of 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate(cas: 6197-30-4).Formula: C24H27NO2

On February 1, 2020, Blanco-Zubiaguirre, L.; Zabaleta, I.; Usobiaga, A.; Prieto, A.; Olivares, M.; Zuloaga, O.; Elizalde, M. P. published an article.Name: 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate The title of the article was Target and suspect screening of substances liable to migrate from food contact paper and cardboard materials using liquid chromatography-high resolution tandem mass spectrometry. And the article contained the following:

This work describes the anal. of both target and non-target compounds in paper and cardboard materials together with the characterization of their migration to Tenax by means of liquid chromatog. coupled to both low (LC-QqQ) and high resolution tandem mass spectrometry (LC-q-Orbitrap), resp. To this aim, an entire anal. procedure was fully developed and validated for both matrixes: paper/cardboard and Tenax. A total of 97 chems., including photoinitiators, phthalates, biocides, antioxidants, etc., listed by the European Regulation, were found in the materials under study together with other substances not included in this list. Moreover, the majority of annotated substances were present in the simulant, giving evidence of their migration capacity. Migration percentages of 10 photoinitiators, 4 phthalates, bisphenol A, bis-(2-ethylhexyl) adipate, acetyltributyl citrate and caprolactam to Tenax were quantified. Despite not exceeding the established specific migration limit (SML) in any case, benzophenone, 4-phenylbenzophenone and bisphenol A concentrations in some paper and cardboard materials were very close to the SML values established by the EU legislation. Medici, Antonio; Saviano, Lorenzo; Siciliano, Antonietta; Libralato, Giovanni; Guida, Marco; Previtera, Lucio; Di Fabio, Giovanni; Zarrelli, Armando published an article in 2022, the title of the article was Octocrylene: From Sunscreens to the Degradation Pathway during Chlorination Processes: Formation of Byproducts and Their Ecotoxicity Assessment.Product Details of 6197-30-4 And the article contains the following content:

Octocrylene is an organic sunscreen whose main action is to absorb UVB radiation and short UVA wavelengths; it is used in various cosmetic products in order to provide an adequate sun-protection factor or to protect the cosmetic formulations themselves from UV radiation. This filter is believed to be a possible endocrine disruptor and is also questioned due to its allergic and/or photoallergic potential. However, it continues to be widely used, and it has been found in various environments, not least those of swimming pools, where it is evidently released by consumers, to the point that it is now considered an emerging micropollutant. The present investigation presents the possible chem. fate of octocrylene in the typical chlorination conditions of wastewater or swimming pools. A total of 11 disinfection byproducts were identified, and 6 were identified for the first time, and separated by HPLC. These products were identified through careful mass spectrometry studies and 1D and 2D NMR experiments A formation mechanism has been proposed that justifies the chem. structures of all of the compounds identified. The ecotoxicol. assessment of octocrylene and their products was carried out by employing Phaeodactylum tricornutum, Brachionus plicatilis and Aliivibrio fischeri as bioindicators. The ecotoxicity results reveal that toxic byproducts might be generated during the oxidation process, increasing the potential risk to the marine environment. The experimental process involved the reaction of 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate(cas: 6197-30-4).Product Details of 6197-30-4

On June 1, 2022, Duque, Alaine; Grau, Jose; Benede, Juan L.; Alonso, Rosa M.; Campanero, Miguel A.; Chisvert, Alberto published an article.Recommanded Product: 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate The title of the article was Low toxicity deep eutectic solvent-based ferrofluid for the determination of UV filters in environmental waters by stir bar dispersive liquid microextraction. And the article contained the following:

In this work, a low toxicity deep eutectic solvent-based ferrofluid is presented for the first time as magnetic fluid to be used as an efficient solvent in liquid-based microextraction techniques. This ferrofluid is made of a hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent, composed by menthol and thymol in a 1:5 molar ratio as carrier solvent, and oleic acid-coated cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4@oleic acid) magnetic nanoparticles. This material was characterized via magnetism measurement, SEM, IR spectroscopy and d. measurement. The determination of UV filters in environmental water samples was selected as model anal. application to test the extraction performance of this new ferrofluid by employing stir bar dispersive liquid microextraction, prior to liquid chromatog.-tandem mass spectrometry anal. The response surface methodol. was used as a multivariate optimization method for extraction step. Under the optimized conditions, good anal. features were obtained, such as low limits of detection between 7 and 83 ng L-1, good repeatability (relative standard deviations, RSD (%) below 15%), enrichment factors between 46 and 101 and relative recoveries between 80 and 117%, proving the good extraction capability of this ferrofluid. Finally, the method was successfully applied to three environmental waters (beach and river waters), finding trace amounts of the target UV filters. The presented low toxicity deep eutectic solvent-based ferrofluid results to be a good alternative to conventional solvents used in liquid-phase microextraction techniques. The experimental process involved the reaction of 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate(cas: 6197-30-4).Recommanded Product: 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate

And the article contained the following:

The reason why patients photosensitized to the drug ketoprofen (KP) may develop severe photoallergic skin reactions to octocrylene (OCT), an organic UV filter in sunscreens and cosmetics, remains largely unknown. OCT can be synthesized by using unsubstituted benzophenone (BP), a possible human carcinogen. Purpose: To verify if, and to what extent, BP residues are present in OCT-containing consumer products. The raw material of OCT and 39 skincare products, of which 28 contain OCT, were chem. analyzed for the presence of BP by means of liquid chromatog. Results: In the OCT raw material and in all 28 OCT-containing products the presence of BP could be demonstrated, mostly in concentrations above 10 ppm (0.001%), whereas a majority of OCT-free products (8/11, 73%) did not contain BP. Moreover, BP concentrations significantly increased, in a time- and temperature-dependent manner, likely due to the addnl. degradation of OCT. Photoallergic contact dermatitis from OCT in patients photosensitized to KP might rely on residual BP impurities. Toxicol. and ecol. studies that evaluate the safety of OCT might also need to consider the concomitant presence of BP. On July 5, 2021, Sulc, Jakub; Pacheco-Fernandez, Idaira; Ayala, Juan H.; Bajerova, Petra; Pino, Veronica published an article.COA of Formula: C24H27NO2 The title of the article was A green miniaturized aqueous biphasic system prepared with cholinium chloride and a phosphate salt to extract and preconcentrate personal care products in wastewater samples. And the article contained the following:

A miniaturized extraction/preconcentration method based on an aqueous biphasic system (μ-ABS) was developed with reagents commonly used as food additives: cholinium chloride (ChCl) as main extraction phase, K2HPO4 as salting-out agent, and water as the main component (being the sample for analyses). With the aim of obtaining high enrichment factors, miniaturization, and adequate anal. performance, a point in the biphasic region with the lowest amount of ChCl was selected, corresponding to 1.55% (weight/weight) of ChCl, 59.5% (weight/weight) of K2HPO4, and 38.95% (weight/weight) of water. The green μ-ABS (attending to its main elements and performance mode) was used in combination with high-performance liquid chromatog. with diode-array detection (HPLC-DAD) for the determination of 9 personal care products in wastewater samples. The μ-ABS-HPLC-DAD method showed high enrichment factors (up to 100), and quant. extraction efficiencies for those compounds containing OH groups in their structure, which can undergo hydrogen bonding with ChCl. Thus, limits of quantification down to 0.8μg·L-1 and extraction efficiencies between 66.4 and 108% (concentration levels of 1.3 and 13μg·L-1) were reached for the group of parabens and the UV-filter benzophenone-3. The method is characterized by the use of non-harmful reagents and the absence of organic solvents in the entire sample preparation procedure, while being simple, low-cost, easily compatible with HPLC, and highly efficient. On April 30, 2022, Samaran, Quentin; Raison-Peyron, Nadia; Clark, Evangeline; Svedman, Cecilia; Dahlin, Jakob; Dereure, Olivier; Bruze, Magnus; Bourrain, Jean Luc published an article.Recommanded Product: 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate The title of the article was A new case of photoallergic contact dermatitis caused by benzophenones in magazine covers. And the article contained the following:

Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) and photoallergic contact dermatitis (PACD) to benzophenone present in printing ink have been reported. However, precise chem. analyses and extended photo-patch tests have not been performed in these cases. To determine which component present in a magazine cover are responsible for a patient’s skin reaction, to determine the primary sensitizer, and precisely diagnose ACD and PACD. After initial photo-patch tests were performed on a patient with a history of reaction to magazine covers after sun exposure, gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry and high-performance liquid chromatog. analyses of the magazine covers, and addnl. photo-patch tests were performed. The first photo-patch test results confirmed PACD to ketoprofen and fenofibrate and evoked PACD to the magazine covers. 4-Me benzophenone (4-MBP) and 1-hydroxy-cyclohexyl-phenyl-ketone (1-HCPK) were found in the magazine cover. Addnl. photo-patch tests confirmed PACD to 1-HCPK and to benzophenone, and photo-aggravated ACD to 4-MBP. The primary sensitizer was ketoprofen. Benzophenones are present in a wide variety of products, without always being listed on the packaging. Patients previously sensitized to other ketones, such as ketoprofen, may react to benzophenones without being able to avoid contact with these mols. New regulations may be needed for more efficient eviction advice. Photoallergic contact dermatitis to covers of a magazine was diagnosed and thorough investigation was necessary to identify the haptens responsible. Chem. analyses of the covers revealed the presence of 4-Me benzophenone (4-MBP) and 1-hydroxy-cyclohexyl-phenyl-ketone (1-HCPK) Photo-patch tests suggested photo-aggravation of contact dermatitis to 4-MBP and benzophenone, and photoallergy to 1-HCPK and ketoprofen. Ketoprofen was the most likely primary sensitizer. Pastor-Nieto, Maria A.; Gatica-Ortega, Maria E.; Sanchez-Herreros, Consuelo; Vergara-Sanchez, Aranzazu; Martinez-Mariscal, Jaime; De Eusebio-Murillo, Esther published an article in 2021, the title of the article was Sensitization to benzyl salicylate and other allergens in patients with frontal fibrosing alopecia.Name: 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate And the article contains the following content:

Contact sensitization is frequent among patients with frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) (52%-76%). To evaluate the frequency of sensitization/photosensitization in an FFA population. A population of FFA patients were patch tested (Spanish Contact Dermatitis Research Group [GEIDAC] baseline; cosmetic and fragrance series), and photopatch tested (sunscreen series). Thirty-six patients (mean age: 64.6 years; 35/36: women) were studied. A history of dermatitis was recorded in 69.4% (frequently involving the face). Overall, 80.5% patients showed pos. patch-test reactions. The most frequently pos. allergens were nickel sulfate (25%), benzyl salicylate (22%), gallates (16.6%), propolis (16.6%), and limonene hydroperoxides (13.8%). Benzyl salicylate was likely relevant to the dermatitis (labeled on personal care products and most patients reporting clin. improvement with allergen avoidance). Patch tests with sunscreens showed pos. reactions to 11 materials (five patients). Photopatch tests were pos. in one case. We speculate a possible relationship between sensitization to benzyl salicylate and FFA. Hypothetically, the most likely explanation is that sensitization to benzyl salicylate involving FFA patients is a consequence of increased exposure to it. It is unclear whether allergen avoidance may impact the prognosis of alopecia. However, it seems to significantly improve the patients quality of life by lessening dermatitis and pruritus.
