2-Ethylhexyl benzoate (cas: 5444-75-7) belongs to esters. Esters are also usually derived from carboxylic acids. It may also be obtained by reaction of acid anhydride or acid halides with alcohols or by the reaction of salts of carboxylic acids with alkyl halides. Esters contain a carbonyl center, which gives rise to 120° C–C–O and O–C–O angles. Unlike amides, esters are structurally flexible functional groups because rotation about the C–O–C bonds has a low barrier. Their flexibility and low polarity is manifested in their physical properties; they tend to be less rigid (lower melting point) and more volatile (lower boiling point) than the corresponding amides. Natural active compounds are an important key to the development and utilization of functional foods and medicine. In this study, the chem. diversity and varietal differences of wine grape were studied by using the untargeted metabolomics method based on gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and the secondary metabolites of different cultivars and different parts were analyzed. A GC-MS-based metabolomic approach and chemometrics tools was used to identify potential active compounds in Vitis vinifera. The results showed that the content of active compounds in red wine varieties was higher than that in white wine varieties, and the content of active ingredients in grape seeds was significantly higher than that in fruits. In conclusion, this study analyzed the metabolite composition and differentiation of different wine grape fruits in Turpan as a whole, and is expected to lay a foundation for the study of wine grape and to provide a theor. basis for development and utilization of the Dietary supplement and medicine on them. Modifications of Kyoho grape berry quality under long-term NaCl treatment was written by Li, Xiao-Ling;Wang, Chun-Rong;Li, Xiao-Yang;Yao, Yu-Xin;Hao, Yu-Jin. And the article was included in Food Chemistry in 2013.Electric Literature of C15H22O2 The following contents are mentioned in the article:

Different concentrations of a sodium chloride spray were applied to the grapevine cultivar Kyoho to determine the effects of salinity on berry quality. The fruit’s fresh weight, relative water content, hardness and titratable acid were gradually enhanced with increased salt concentrations Anthocyanin and soluble solids increased after treatment with moderate salinity (20 and 60 mM); however, the results were reversed under high salinity (100 and 150 mM). The soluble sugars glucose, fructose and sucrose increased after treatment with moderate salinity, whereas glucose and fructose declined under high salinity. For the six organic acids tested, their total levels were elevated by salinity, which increased the production of tartaric and malic acids. The aroma of the berry was extremely sensitive to salinity and showed a considerable decline in abundance and variety at 20 mM NaCl. In summary, moderate salinity enhanced the overall berry quality, but decreased the aroma quality, whereas high salinity decreased the berry quality. Infants spend most of their time sleeping and are likely to be exposed to elevated concentrations of chems. released from crib mattresses. Small-scale chamber experiments were conducted to determine area-specific emission rates (SER) of volatile organic compounds (VOC in 20 new and used crib mattresses). All mattress samples emitted VOC; mean values of total VOC (TVOC) SER were 56 μg/m2-h at 23° and 139 μg/m2h at 36°. TVOC SER were greater for new vs. used mattresses and were affected by type of foam material and a mattress cover layer. A variety of VOC were identified; polyurethane foam released a greater diversity of VOC than polyester foam. Large-scale chamber experiments were conducted with an infant thermal manikin. Sampled TVOC concentrations in the breathing zone and interior pore air of crib mattress foam were greater than bulk room air by factors of 1.8-2.4 and 7.5-21, resp. Results suggested crib mattresses are an important VOC source, and infant VOC exposure is possibly elevated in sleep micro-environments. And the article was included in Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data in 2022.COA of Formula: C15H22O2 The following contents are mentioned in the article:

Surface tension values for 79 esters, including aromatics, polyfunctional, and glycerides, have been compiled from databases, books, and papers in the literature. The data have been carefully screened, and finally, 1517 values were selected. Each fluid dataset has been fitted with the Guggenheim-Katayama correlation with two or four adjustable parameters. Recommended correlations are proposed for each ester, providing mean absolute deviations below 0.50 mN/m for 77 of them, mean absolute percentage deviations below 1.7% for 76 of them, and percentage deviations below 10%, except for four data out of the 59 selected for tricaprylin. The highest deviations found are due to the disagreement between the data obtained from different sources and not to an inadequate math. form of the correlation model. These correlations are added to the collection of those previously proposed for different fluids, including common substances, alcs., refrigerants, organic acids, n-alkanes, and 80 other esters. Supercritical fluid extraction using carbon dioxide (SFE-CO2) was employed to study the optimal process parameters of tea flower (Camellia sinensis L.) and aroma anal. was made of its extracts by GC-MS. Three parameters-pressure, temperature and CO2 flow rate-were selected, and their influences on yield were investigated. Based on the results of an orthogonal experiment, the optimum process parameters were shown to be: extraction pressure 25 Mpa, extraction temperature 40°C and CO2 flow rate 25 kg/h. Under such a condition, the actual yield of extracts was 1.36%±0.09%. The results of range anal. indicated that the order of the three parameters influencing the extraction yield was CO2 flow rate>extraction pressure>extraction temperature The results of GC-MS anal. from MS with retention index (RI) showed that there were 97 aroma compounds in the extracts of tea flowers. They were alkanes (33.85%), esters (8.49%), aldehydes (2.35%), ketones (5.95%), alcs. (2.86%), acids (31.18%), terpenes (8.16%), the others (7.16%). The profile of volatiles in squids was characterized using simultaneous distillation-extraction coupled with comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatog. (GC) and Time-of-Flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC-TOFMS). GC×GC-TOFMS improved the resolution and separation efficiency of the compounds; it not only separated the 52 compounds that co-elute in conventional GC-MS, but also allowed the identification of compounds that were not previously detected (e.g. 2-Octanol). The total contents of volatiles detected by GC×GC-TOFM were about 2.5-fold higher than those analyzed by GC-MS. Among 184 volatiles identified by GC×GC-TOFMS, 119 compounds were reported for the first time in squids, compared with the GC-MS data available in the literature. These volatile classes included aromatic hydrocarbons (39), aliphatic hydrocarbons (22), esters (21), aldehydes (20), alcs. A review. Monitoring the gas composition around power cables using gas sensors is a promising method for detecting their overheating. In this paper we screened the sensing performance in dry and humid conditions of a variety of com. and homemade sensors. The target gases were 2-Ethylhexanol (2-EH), Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP), and Benzene; they are the main gases evaporated from overheated polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which is the material of choice for the external insulation of power cables. We found that the tested sensors show different sensing performances to the three target gases, generally with a fast response and slow recovery, the latter especially for 2-EH and DOTP. We also found that the responses to DOTP and 2-EH are correlated and, generally, larger than the ones to benzene. We also showed that by combining the sensors into a sensor array and applying PCA it is possible to distinguish between 2-EH and DOTP, on the one hand, and benzene, on the other hand. However, a more refined pattern recognition method is needed to distinguish between 2-EH and DOTP.
