The organic layer is dried (MgSO4), filtered, evaporated and purified by silica gel chromatography (0-100% gradient, ethyl acetate in hexanes) to provide methyl 2-(isoquinolin-6-yloxy)-2-methylpropanoate 1 (1.25 g, 74%) as a colorless oil. MS calcd. for Ci4Hi6NO3 (TVB-H+) 246.1, found 246.1.
