To a solution of the crude methyl ester in DMF (5 mL) was added octane- 1 -thiol (0.87 mL, 5 mmol) and Cs2CCh (2.44g, 7.5 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at 600C for 1 h, concentrated, quenched with NH4CI, extracted with EtOAc.
