General procedure: Into a reaction flask dicarboxylic acid dimethyl ester and fatty alcohol or cholesterol were added at the ratio of 1:2, respectively. At the end of this, the flask was cooled to room temperature and the resulting solid reaction mixture was crystallized from THF/MeOH to afford pure crystalline product.
