Then 2 additions of 2 eq of tert-butyl bromoisobutyrate diluted to 50% in DMSO are each made at an interval of 1 hour. The reaction medium is stirred for 2 days at 80 C. The reaction medium is left to cool to ambient temperature and then 1.5 litres of water are added and the product is extracted with dichloromethane (4 times). The organic phase is dried on a phase-separation cartridge and evaporated dry. Purification on silica gel (cyclohexane/ethylacetate: 95/5 to 80/20): 18 g (orange solid, yield: 61%).
